Our research
Bridging academic research from across the University of Oxford with expertise from social impact practitioners globally, we develop cutting edge insights and best practices for leading and organising, financing, measuring, and scaling impact.
- Leading & Organising - What leadership practices and organising approaches facilitate sustainable, innovative, and impactful social change?
- Financing - What forms of partnerships and financing are needed to support systemic social change?
- Measuring - How can we ensure impact measurement is useful and meaningful for the individuals, organisations, and communities at the heart of social change?
- Scaling - How can we effectively and responsibly catalyse impact at scale, scaling up while also scaling deep?
The research community
Our research community is at the heart of our work. Through the Skoll Centre Fellows and Early Career Research Fellows programmes, we work with faculty and researchers from Saïd Business School and across the University of Oxford as thought partners in all our research initiatives.
We are also fortunate to have strong links with leading practitioners and academics in the field of social impact. Visiting Fellows and Executives in Residence frequently serve as research collaborators, instructors, and thought partners for our work.

The Insights for Action seminar series
The Insights for Action seminar series explores how researchers and practitioners are using research insights to drive social change. Open to the public, recent sessions have covered topics such as workarounds for systems change; leadership and wellbeing in the impact sector; and creating impact at scale through avenues such as the B Corp movement, state bureaucracies, supply chain governance, and major programmes.

Marya Besharov, Academic Director of the Skoll Centre, was joined by Sam Vionnet, Founder of Valuing Impact, and Karim Harji, Director of the Oxford Impact Measurement Programme, for a timely and provocative discussion on monetizing and valuing impact.
